I use 1&1 as my server, so if you need help setting up your database on 1&1, then here are the step by step instructions.
Step 1:
Create a database. This is as simple as clicking on MySQL Administration and then Create a New Database.

Step 2:
Make sure you choose SQL 5.0 otherwise you'll get errors. Name it whatever you like.

Step 3.
Once the database is ready (might take a few minutes) click on the PHPMyAdmin button to enter the SQL area.

Step 4.
1. Click on the database name on the left, then 2. the SQL button (2nd button) in the main screen. Finally 3. find the dump.sql file on your computer and upload it to the database.

And your database is created!
--
Next fill in the passwords.php file with your relevant info. You'll find the host name, user name, password & database name on the main control panel area of the My SQL page on 1&1.

Upload all the files from the Auction Acrobat script folder somewhere on your website. (It doesn't matter where it is, just somewhere you can access it online - I put mine in a folder on one of my websites).
Then when they are all uploaded go to the folder where you put the files and you should see the Auction Acrobat Admin sreen. Login using the password provided to you (see your Installation Manual) and then change the password to anything you like.
Follow the rest of the instructions from the Installation Manual and you are done!
Now get searching for some ebooks to sell!
Tracey recommends Auction Acrobat.

hi tracey,
how do I download 1&1 server? I am having diffuculty in installing auction acrobat, with the SQL and PHP side, setting up server side of things.
Hi Peter,
I meant I have hosting with 1&1 so use their server to host my auction acrobat program on.
Make sure you choose sql 5.0 for your database otherwise you'll get errors.

Hi Tracey,
Great information. I got another question for you. I already have a
website. Do I have to buy another one or can I set this auction acrobat up on the one I have now, without have to delete all the stuff I have on it now?
Hi June,
Yes you can put it on your existing website, just choose a folder that you don't use for anything else and put the files there.

Hi Tracey,
Thanks. Is this program making you money yet? What is the diffence between freeware download auction acrobat and paying the auction acrobat for,$97.?
Hey June,
The freeware version is just a trial of the main program. I think you get 15 days or something? Then you have to pay the full price to keep using it.
I'm going to be completly honest here - I'm not sure I think it's worth $97. I got it for much less than that so I'm happy - but $97 is a lot of money!
I suggest you start creating your own cds/dvds and set everything up manually with eBay & Kunaki yourself and once you are earning at least $100 per month THEN get the software to automate everything for you.
Hope that helps,
Tracey
